About the job opportunity

As a Data Scientist you will help drive a pragmatic, data-first culture, focused on user satisfaction and revenue optimization. You will be a part of the product development team and you will need to understand our strategic initiatives and bring data and insights into high impact business collaborations.

Above all, you will play a pivotal role in building out our data, analytics and BI platform and suite of products, helping to determine where we should focus and what type of capabilities should be developed.

What Will I Be Doing?

As a Data Scientist:

  • Most of the time you will need to transform large, complex, dirty data sets into pragmatic, actionable insights. You will then need to leverage this data to identify, quantify and influence tangible business gain.

  • You will apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to assist stakeholders including the Executive, Sales, Product and Marketing teams.

  • You will be working side by side with our Data Engineers in order to build the right infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources. Your input in this process will be critical.

  • Often you will build and analyze dashboards, reports and key datasets to empower operational and exploratory analysis of the business.

  • Finally, you should identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automate reports, optimize data delivery, re-design collected data and metrics.

What skills do I need?

  • You will need to have an advanced degree in quantitative fields (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Economics, or related fields). Excellent knowledge of applied statistics (descriptive, exploratory, inferential, predictive) will also be required.

  • Some coding skills for analytics and data manipulation (Python, SQL, R, etc) are also required.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (such as Tableau, Qlik, D3, ggplot) is essential for this role.

  • A strong grasp of modern data mining and data analytics will be vital. Ideally, you should already know how to and build production-ready machine learning models.

  • Experience working with real-world, noisy data and clearly presenting your findings is required.

  • Strong business acumen, paying close attention to detail and self-motivation.

  • You should be taking pride in your work and share your findings with the team and listen to their discoveries.

  • Greek candidates need to have fulfilled military obligations and ability to communicate in Greek and English (verbal & written form, business proficiency).

Where will I be working?

Your place of work will be our Athens office.
